Botox, which is a purified protein, is derived from Botulinum Toxin type A and is used for treating Fine lines and unwanted wrinkles.
Botox is one of the most widely studied medications in the world with numerous clinical trials conducted. Areas most commonly treated with Botox are the forehead, glabella (frown lines between the eyebrows), and crow’s feet; however there are many other ways in which Botox can be utilized. Results can be seen within 3-10 days and will last 3-5 months
Usually it takes about 20-30 units of Botox to treat one area. Many clinics and spas don’t go through all the necessary steps that our doctors do. All of our injections are done by Board Certified trained physician.
We also carry newer products Like Xeomin and Dysport, which are also used for treating fine lines and wrinkles.
Juvederm- For Deep Facial Lines and as Lip Enhancer
Juvederm is a clear, colorless gel made of Hyaluronic acid, which is a natural sugar complex found in our skin and joint tissue. It acts like a sponge when injected and binds your own body’s water to enhance the plumping effect. Juvederm corrects the appearance of deeper facial wrinkles and folds while restoring volume to the skin’s surface providing a more youthful, refreshed appearance with immediate, visible results.
Juvederm is used to fill areas such as the nasolabial folds (Smile Lines), marionette lines (Chin Lines), jaw line, nose and cheeks. Juvederm is also used to lift the eyebrows, fill in hollow areas under the eyes (tear troughs) and fill in lip lines or create a natural, fuller lip.
Our Juvederm injections are pertormed by a Board Certified trained physician who uses techniques that will provide the most comfort and safety possible to our patients. The Juvederm product that we inject has lidocaine anesthetic in the syringe that also helps provide a virtually painless procedure. The most common side effects experienced are bruising and swelling at the injection site.
Radiesse- For Deep Facial Lines and Wrinkles
Radiesse is a compound of calcium hydroxyl apatite microspheres that are suspended in a carboxymethylcellulose gel. Calcium and phosphate ions, naturally occurring in our bodies, primarily make up the calcium hydroxyl apatite particles. The gel contains an organic compound of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen, as well as glycerin and sterile water. Thin connective tissue forms around the microspheres, such that the microspheres themselves act as a ”filler” that remains permanently implanted at the site location.
Radiesse candidates are typically between the ages of 35 and 60. Areas that we treat usually include nasolabial folds (Smile Lines), marionette lines (Chin Lines), Oral commissures (Corner of the Mouth) and eyebrow elevation. Radiesse usually provides up to 80 percent improvement immediately after treatment. Results are fully evident within one week. Radiesse can last 1-2 years or more, but touchups may be necessary throughout this time period.
All of our Radiesse injections are done by Board Certified trained physicians, and the procedure is most often performed using local anesthesia. Patients may experience minimal discomfort from the needle injection. There may be minimal swelling, which usually subsides in 24 to 36 hours. Normal activities can be resumed immediately; however, patients are advised to stay out of the sun.
