Crowns
As we age, many of us find ourselves with teeth that are no longer structurally sound. Root canals, lost fillings, decay below a filling, chipping and cracking of the enamel are all things that can lead to large scale defects in a tooth's surface. When the entire surface of the tooth is a problem, the crown will cover the entire visible surface of your affected tooth and add strength, durability and tooth stability.

CEREC 3D: One-day Visit Crowns

What Kinds of Procedures Can It Perform?

  • Partial and full crowns, as well as All other single-tooth restorations.

Crown

Cerec

Advantages of: CEREC 3D

  • The dentist performs the crown, filling or veneer in a single session, usually in less than one hour
  • No need for the dentist to make an impression and send it to the lab. No return visits for you
  • The restoration is natural looking, as it is made out of tooth-colored ceramic material
  • Ceramic material is biocompatible, high-grade, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant
  • Metal-free - no silver-colored fillings
  • Allows dentist to save more of the healthy tooth
  • Extremely precise
CEREC 3D has over a decade of clinical research and documentation to support the technology. The restorations have been proven precise, safe and effective.
Porcelain and Metal Crowns
For a very natural appearance, porcelain fused to metal crowns are the answer. They have a metal substructure and require an opaque below the porcelain. These are considered to be the most aesthetically pleasing, as it is so easily matched in color to the surrounding teeth. Porcelain fused-to-metal crowns have a very natural appearance.

Before

Veneers
Unlike a crown, which covers the entire tooth, a veneer is a thin covering that is placed on the front part of the tooth.

Veneers are an excellent cosmetic remedy for a variety of dental conditions that affect the appearance of front teeth.

Veneers are often used to treat severely discolored, poorly shaped or slightly crooked teeth, as well as teeth that are chipped or worn.

After

Ceramic Veneers
These are extremely thin shells made of strong and durable dental ceramic. A thin layer of enamel is removed from the front of the tooth to make room for the veneer. An impression of the prepared teeth is taken and sent to the dental lab. At the next visit, the ceramic veneers are placed on the teeth. We check the fit and shape and make adjustments, if necessary. With just one or two veneers to do, we can do it in just one visit at our office. These veneers can be done on the CEREC 3D or sent to a quality dental lab.

Composite Resin Veneers
Composite resin veneers are done in one visit. After the tooth is prepared, we choose the matching-colored composite material and sculpt the material onto the tooth surface. A special light is used to harden the material. The veneer is then smoothed and polished to look like a natural tooth.

Ceramic veneers provide a very natural appearance since they mimic the translucency of a natural tooth. They are more durable and stain resistant than composite veneers. Composite veneers are not as strong as ceramic but are less expensive and simpler to repair in case of a fracture. We will help you choose what is best for you.
